Direct Mail Pizza Menus For Football Games and Other Sports Events

Whether you own a small pizza business or have several locations in your area, you have something that even the big chains can’t compete with. You know your market and have the ability to focus on local sporting events when running advertising campaigns. Direct mailing pizza menus for football games and other sports events in your area generate will massive sales and also keep you in the spotlight as the “go-to-spot” for the big game!

Timing is Everything

Before you even think about how you are going to advertise, and what specials or promos you are going to run on your direct mail pizza menus, the first thing to do is get your hands on a calendar of events in your market area. Just prior to the beginning of each season any given sport at your local schools and universities, specific games with locations will be posted (i.e. home or away). Once you know when and where those games will be held, it is time to sit down to plan direct mail pizza menus to generate sales during those events. The same idea applies to national sports events such as NFL, NBA, or big soccer games. Timing is everything and your menu mailers will need to go out just prior to major sporting events to get the full benefit.

Support Your Home Team – Game Night Specials

One effective use of direct mail pizza menus is to include specials and coupon that are only redeemable on game nights. Some pizza restaurants offer special promotions that can be redeemed if the home team wins, while other pizza shops offer discounts when ticket stubs to the games are provided after the event on game night. Many owners support local teams and a portion of the profit on game nights goes to supporting home teams. Use your direct mail pizza menus to advertise that! Parents and students alike are proud of their home teams, and statistics have proven that they are more likely to patronize businesses that support the home team.

Bulk Discounts for Home Games

Another way to generate massive sales with direct mail pizza menus is to advertise special deals when ordering bulk on game nights. Many parents who run concession stands at home games order two or more dozen pizzas to be sold by the slice to raise money for the team. Those pizzas generally come from the big chains because they offer a discount when ordering in bulk. Maybe you can’t provide quite the same discount that those large corporations can offer, but you can provide much better pizza (which will sell more!) and you can support the home team at the same time. Other successful marketing techniques would include special pricing for after-game or tail-gating parties when ordering a certain quantity pre-established on your menu.

The key to success is to plan direct mail pizza menus with promotions, coupons, and specials just prior to major sporting events in your market area. The ‘big guys’ can’t do that because there are just too many schools and universities to keep up with around the country and they have to get corporate approval for almost all advertisements. By taking advantage of your market knowledge, you can own your local area with very little effort. And, you don’t even need to try to remember to get your mailings out on time! Professional printers can have those mailings scheduled for you and often that pizza menu or flyer can be mailed for less than the price of a postage stamp. Use football and other sports events to keep your name in the spotlight, plus it’s fun!

Outdoor Movie Events Help Boost Morale of Soldiers and Military Families

Being in the Army means missing Christmas, birthdays and many other special family events. Not being there for these days hurts, but sometimes the hardest part is missing out on every day family life. For soldiers and their family members, enjoying simple but fun events like watching outdoor movies on an inflatable screen can be just what is needed to boost the morale of soldiers, and bring soldiers and families closer.

Enjoying a movie as a family is among the more common ways families bond. In the military, soldiers and families often bond with other military families as a larger military community. Many events that take place on a military base are geared toward bonding and boosting the morale of troops, as well as their family members. A well chosen movie enjoyed by a group of military families is an excellent way to encourage bonding in the military community. Inflatable movie screens are versatile. Whether you would like to use an open field, an area on a military base, or even on an aircraft carrier; an inflatable movie screen will meet your needs. And the high quality equipment and service provided by Southern Outdoor Cinema will ensure that the experience is enjoyed by all.

The choice of movie will depend largely on the group the event is being held for. For a group of soldiers with families that include children; a classic family or children’s movie is the best choice. Most parents enjoy seeing their children having a fun time. For parents in the Army, it is usually even more gratifying to see the excitement children get out of fun events. The Army takes soldiers away from their families for extended periods of time, so watching their children enjoy a movie at a special event like this will likely become a cherished memory. And inflatable movie screens are available in a variety of sizes. There is a screen for any size group; from just a few hundred, to as many as 10,000 viewers.

For groups of only soldiers; morale boosting is the name of the game. Movies that emphasize team work and coming together to reach a common goal are great choices. A movie specifically about the military or war is also a good choice. Other times, soldiers might want to simply enjoy a popular movie and have a good time together. Spending time together in a relaxed environment, away from the demands of the Army, is important for soldiers.

When fun time with family and friends is limited, it is important to make that time special. Watching a movie on an inflatable movie screen is exciting and a great recreation event for soldiers and military families.

Military Theme – Fancy Dress

When you think of formal attire, there are three general thoughts of men’s attire, such as a suit, tie,and so on; women’s attire, which is often an evening dress of silk; and any uniform. Uniforms are big part of fashion, though not everyone has the honor of getting the chance to wear one.

A symbol of pride, significance, determination, discipline, and nationalism, the uniform is both formal and casual-formal in public events, casual during military events, which can be quite ironic to come to a party in work clothes, albeit ironed and pressed worked clothes.

The idea of looking fancy is to wear your uniform, coming full with the iconic pockets and shoulder straps. However, the rest of the fashion world is getting jealous, and is taking a fancy form of significant fashion and turning it into something that is anything but fancy-casual.

How can you turn something fancy into something casual? Through postmodernism. Postmodernism is a slightly complex idea, but to keep thing s simple, when it comes to the world of fashion, postmodernism is what gave birth to the concept of “retro.” So, when you are wearing bell bottoms from the seventies, a tie die shirt from the sixties, or a dress representative to the roaring twenties, you are bring a retro theme out, and, therefore, you are being postmodern.

Generally, speaking, postmodernism is when modernism runs out of ideas and brings in old ones-such as what has been going in the military for generations: shoulder straps, for example. By adding shoulder accessories onto a jacket or a shirt, it is adding a military theme, a postmodern theme. Although fashionable, using such techniques are more casual than anything, and can, if done without moderation, take significance away from the military, the origin of such new fashion techniques.

10 Amazing Ideas for a Military Themed Wedding

I have been incredibly lucky to attend several military weddings – including my own. While my husband and I did a traditional ceremony following our 14-month long-distance engagement, many of the couples whose weddings I’ve attended were in fact already married through a quick courthouse ceremony months of even years prior. They do the courthouse marriage so that they can reap the financial benefits, promising to have their ‘real’ wedding when he returns from the deployment. Because of this arrangement, many brides are left planning their big day singlehandedly. That can be a blessing to those detail-oriented brides who have been dreaming of their wedding day since age 5 when she would dress in a pillowcase veil, her mother’s heals, and force her little brother to walk hand-in-hand down the imaginary aisle in her family’s living room. But it can also be an incredibly daunting, exhausting event to plan. Unless you have a magnificent wedding planner, you are left with the infinite details that go into bringing the vision to life.

With June being the most popular wedding month in many areas of the country, I am busting with inspiration for a modern military themed wedding. Therefore, I have compiled 10 of the most amazing military themed wedding ideas that I could find to help make this special event less worrisome and more whimsical.

1.) Your Story invitation insert.
In April, 2013 I attended a military wedding of a couple who invited me and my husband with a delightfully unique invitation. It was a classy Mad Libs-style invitation that allowed us to hand write words on the RSVP card such as a song we wanted to hear and how we wanted them to recess down the isle (I said cartwheel.) I am loving the wedding invitation insert featured through David’s Bridal that tells a quick story of how the bride and groom met – a fun way to tell guests who may not know the couple very well.

2.) Love birds cake topper.
Made by Ann Wood at annwood.net, she can customize a bird wedding cake topper to your branch of the military. Sit them atop your cake to wow your guests and treasure as a keepsake long after the cake cutting.

3.) Spruce up your favors.
This idea is so fresh. Use a living spruce in a mason jar tied with burlap string to give guests as favors. What a wonderful way to incorporate the army green and tan military wedding color pairing into your favors.

4.) Anything but boring boutonnieres.
I love attending weddings that reek personality. For a military twist, pin an army man, anchor emblem, wings or sabers to the lapel of your ushers and groomsmen.

5.) The wedding that gives back.
For the couple who doesn’t need much, this idea is sure to leave a lasting impression. Rather than creating a wedding registry, invite guests to donate to a military cause of your choosing, such as to the Wounded Warrior Project. Include instructions with the invitation, and display a reception table where last minute donations can be made. Remind guests of tax deductions.

6.) Create a photo booth.
It’s a party, why not have a little fun with photography? It’s a great way to snap photos of all the guests enjoying themselves in a nontraditional way.

7.) Go vintage.
If I could redo my wedding I’d plan a vintage military themed wedding. Rather than bright patriotic colors, go for vintage blues and muted reds. Use old suitcases and trunks to house gifts, and incorporate vintage military airplanes or other branch-specific nostalgia into the centerpieces and favors.

8.) Use pretty postage.
Dress up your invitations with custom military wedding themed postage from zazzle.com.

9.) Amazing military wedding venues.
I had the honor of witnessing a wedding ceremony at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel. It is a stunning structure both inside and out. As a guest, I will never forget that wedding because it was truly an amazing venue. To incorporate the military theme into your setting, research local museums, banquet halls, and chapels related to your branch. Many bases are rich in history, and you can usually find both old and new structures that are sure to please. Most military venues must be reserved in advance for a fee, much like civilian wedding sites.

10.) Free wedding dresses through Brides Across America.
Heidi Janson at BridesAcrossAmerica.com has given away over 5000 wedding gowns to military brides. This remarkable woman and her team are setting up nationwide wedding gown giveaway events in July, 2013. Head on over to their site to check dates and locations, and to pre-register. To qualify, you or your fiancĂ©e has to have deployed within the last 5 years – or – you must have orders for an upcoming deployment. You must also show proof of orders, have a valid ID, and be engaged. If you don’t live near one of the giveaway events, or if you don’t qualify, they sell very affordable gowns through their site.

I’ve just skimmed the surface of my finds. For many more amazing military
